چکیده

The experiment was conducted during Kharif 2020 and 2021 at Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. A total of 103 accessions including 03 checks were assessed observations recorded for ten traits viz., days to flower initiation, 50 % flowering, maturity, plant height (cm), number primary branches per plant, secondary capitula seeds capitula, 1000 seed weight (g) yield (g). REML analysis discovered significant differences among the all traits. It indicates a satisfactory amount genetic variability yield-attributing Values phenotypic coefficients variation higher than value genotypic in this study. High heritability noted under experiment. Genetic advance as percentage mean high followed by 1000-seed whereas, trait 50% initiation maturity exhibited low magnitude. These results indicate dominance additive gene effect, which will aid selection an early segregating generation.

Effect of replacement ratios on plant traits and seed quality properties in intercropping of soybeans (Glycine max L. Merr) and niger (Guizotia abyssinica Cass.)

A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the competition of soybean intercropped with niger in different planting ratios using randomized complete block design with four replications at Sari agricultural sciences and natural resources university in 2018 and 2019. The intercropping ratios were 0:100, 25:75, 50:50, 75:25, and 100:0 (soybean:niger, respectively) using the replacement series. R...

Genetic variability analysis for various yield attributing traits in rice genotypes

An experiment was conducted using a randomized complete block design to estimate genetic variability of ten rice genotypes. Analysis of variance for yield and yield contributing traits showed significant (p<0.01) variation among the genotypes. Results of genetic analyses showed a higher phenotypic coefficient of variation compared to their corresponding genotypic coefficient of variation for al...

Exploration of the reproductive barrier between noug (Guizotia abyssinica) and its progenitor Guizotia scabra ssp. schimperi

Domestication can be used to study the formation of barriers to reproduction because much is known about the selective forces at work during the process of domestication as well as the general timeline under which it occurs. Studying domestication may reveal how barriers to reproduction arise quickly and may give insight into speciation under natural conditions. Barriers to reproduction are ver...

Mineral and Anti-Nutritional Contents of Niger Seed (Guizotia abyssinica (L.f.) Cass., Linseed (Linumusitatissimum L.) and Sesame (Sesamumindicum L.) Varieties Grown in Ethiopia

Oilseeds are rich sources of micronutrients and contribute to combating malnutrition caused by micronutrient deficiency. The objective of this study was to investigate the mineral and anti-nutritional contents of different varieties of niger seed, linseed and sesame. Five niger seed, eight linseed and ten sesame varieties were used. Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-A...
